The popular casino and entertainment location unveiled it hired the services of Sue Ascanio.
Sue Ascanio Joins Plaza Hotel and Casino’s Leadership
As a gaming and entertainment industry veteran with more than three decades of experience, Ascanio is joining Plaza Hotel and Casino as its new general manager. In her new position as the casino’s general manager, she will spearhead strategic processes and oversee its operation and growth.
Sharing her excitement, Ascanio acknowledged that the Plaza Hotel and Casino remains focused on offering a unique gaming and hotel experience for its guests. At the same time, she pointed out that the venue is an important location in downtown Las Vegas. Finally, Ascanio said: “I am very excited to join the team at the Plaza because they have great energy, amazing creativity, and a true desire to provide the best experience possible for the customer.”

The New General Manager Brings Decades of Industry Experience
Ascanio graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She holds a Bachelor of Science in hotel administration. This solid education undoubtedly helped her in her career which spans more than 30 years within the gaming and hospitality industry. In addition to licensed commercial gaming, Ascanio has experience within the tribal gaming sector. As an expert in the field, she has a proven track record in delivering success for operators and leading large teams.
Before joining the Plaza Hotel and Casino, Ascanio was a part of River Rock Casino in California. During her two-year tenure with the operator, she held the position of general manager. For nearly eight years until October 2018, Ascanio was also a part of Pinnacle Entertainment where she held a VP and general manager position. Her professional background includes two years as VP and assistant general manager at Penn National Gaming’s Hollywood Casino Lawrenceburg. Moreover, Ascanio was a part of Station Casinos for nearly 12 years where she held different leadership roles.
