Flutter Names John Bryant New Chair and Non-executive Director

Gaming industry giant Flutter Entertainment announced a senior-level appointment. The company confirmed Thursday it strengthened its leadership by hiring John Bryant, an expert with significant experience within international companies. Joining Flutter, he was appointed to the role of non-executive director and Chair designate of the Board.

The company explained that the appointment will be effective after its annual general meeting which is set for April 27, 2023. Still, Flutter said that Bryant will assume his new role as Chair starting on September 1 this year.

Bryant will be filling the role of the company’s outgoing Chair, Gary McGann. After reaching his nine-year tenure as a non-executive director, Flutter said that McGann will be stepping down. The global gaming company pointed out that the recent appointment is in line with its “succession plan as well as good governance practice.”

In addition to his role as non-executive director and Chair designate, Bryant will also become a part of Flutter’s Board’s Nomination and Remuneration Committees. Effective September 1, 2023, he will be Chair of the Nomination Committee.

Peter Jackson, Flutter’s CEO, thanked McGann for his dedication and hard work. He acknowledged that McGann was a non-executive director with the company for nine years and held the role of Chair for eight years.

According to Jackson, the outgoing Chair’s relentless efforts helped navigate the company through a period of significant growth. He added that he is looking forward to collaborating with Bryant. In conclusion, Jackson said that Bryant brings unique experience which will help Flutter execute its growth strategy.

The outgoing Chair also welcomed Bryant to the company. McGann outlined that Bryant delivers extensive experience which will help him in his new role. Finally, the outgoing Chair said that he will ensure a smooth transition of the responsibilities.
